About Korimako
Korimako is an outdoor apparel brand based in Canterbury, New Zealand.
We make limited run clothing built around original artwork and a hands on way of working.
Our Hand Cut Series begins with a sketch. The artwork is carved into lino, inked and printed onto paper before the original print is scanned at high resolution and reproduced onto the finished garment by screen printers in Christchurch.
Sometimes the idea comes from a place. Sometimes from an event, a collaboration or something we've noticed along the way. What matters is that it starts with an idea worth making properly.
Inspired by Place
The places we return to shape the way we design.
Sometimes that means translating a landscape into an original hand-cut print. Other times it simply influences the colours, materials or details that make up a garment. However a product begins, the connection to place remains the same.
We don't believe every outdoor experience needs to be extraordinary. Often it's the familiar places that stay with us the longest.
Designed to be worn
Good outdoor clothing should become part of everyday life.
Whether it's an early morning walk, a weekend in the hills or a stop for coffee on the way home, we want our clothing to be the pieces you reach for without thinking.
Comfort, quality and timeless design matter more to us than chasing trends.
Thoughtful by Design
We're committed to making considered decisions wherever we can.
That means choosing quality materials, working locally where it makes sense and looking for responsible options throughout the process — from the garments themselves to the way they're printed and packaged.
We won't pretend we've solved everything. As Korimako grows, we'll keep looking for better materials, better processes and better ways of making clothing that lasts.
Looking Ahead
The Hand Cut Series is where Korimako began.
For now, we're keeping things small — limited runs, original artwork, collaborations and projects that give us a reason to make something interesting.
Over time, Korimako will grow beyond printed T-shirts into a wider range of outdoor clothing and equipment. The products may change, but the approach won't: make things thoughtfully, work with good people and create clothing worth keeping.
