Godley Head and Boulder Bay
Share
Godley Head follows the coastline above Lyttelton Harbour, combining open clifftops, sweeping views and the remains of one of New Zealand's best-preserved coastal defence batteries.
The track changes character throughout the year. Summer turns the hills dry and golden, while the cooler months bring back the green. The harbour sits on one side and the open Pacific on the other.
It's also a great place to run.
The Boulder Bay Classic
Each year the Boulder Bay Classic takes runners from Taylors Mistake onto the Godley Head track, following the coastal terrain around Boulder Bay.
It's a brilliant local event and a good excuse to experience this part of the coastline at a slightly quicker pace.
